To Market to Market

While we were is Sibu, the city of the swan, we went to Sibu Pasar Central Market.  It is the largest market of its type in Malaysia with over 1118 stalls.  They are rented for RM 600-1000  a year.  On the first floor is the wet market and the second floor had other things like clothes, music, household goods, etc

Black chicken.  Everything black, skin, meat, bones.  Not sure what the yellow snake like creature is.  The shop owner did not speak English.  It was big. About 6 feet long.  6 inches thick. The mouth was about 5-6 inches long.  This is only part of it.  She had been cutting off pieces to sell.

  1. Oooo. . . i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, crazy markets like this! Visiting them is one of my favorite things to do while travelling. Someday I'll have to show you some photos/videos of others I've visited. CRAZY stuff! Cows heads being chopped in half with a machete; a cat waking on the table past live turtles that were being removed from their shells; a baby sitting at the feet of his father while blood dripped everywhere during a butchering. So nuts!

The black chickens! The snake! Amazing.
