Lacau

We met her on our way to Sibu.  The drive to Sibu takes about 6 hours from Kuching.  This stop is Lacau and is about 3 hours out of Kuching.  She had her sewing machine there and worked on ties, vests, sashes, book covers.   We bought a vest and some ties from her.  It is Iban traditional fabric.  She is making some Book of Mormon covers for Elder Boyter that we will pick up in July when we go back to Sibu.  She has no teeth but she allowed us a take a picture of her.  She is a wonderful Christian woman who accepted our gift of the Book of Mormon.

To Market to Market

While we were is Sibu, the city of the swan, we went to Sibu Pasar Central Market.  It is the largest market of its type in Malaysia with over 1118 stalls.  They are rented for RM 600-1000  a year.  On the first floor is the wet market and the second floor had other things like clothes, music, household goods, etc

Black chicken.  Everything black, skin, meat, bones.  Not sure what the yellow snake like creature is.  The shop owner did not speak English.  It was big. About 6 feet long.  6 inches thick. The mouth was about 5-6 inches long.  This is only part of it.  She had been cutting off pieces to sell.
