Survival in the jungle

Just like home the elders were trying to teach the youth how to survive in the wild. Here is a sister cutting bamboo shoots to cook. They stuffed the bamboo with chicken and vegetables and cook over the fire, reminds me of tin foil dinners. The chicken was very good.

They even picked large leaves to use as dinner plates for those who waned to eat off. The leaves were 12-18 inches in diameter. They also used them to wrap leftovers in to transport home. Handy.
